Obituary of Russell Owen David Desjardins

DESJARDINS, Russell Jr. "Rusty" June 3, 1981 - July 1, 2008 Our Beautiful Gentle Giant has joined his loving sister, Colette (1997). He leaves behind his devastated family, father Russell Desjardins Sr., mother Mary Lou Desjardins and sister Angela Desjardins and Jason Drummond. He was his father"s pride and joy, his mother and sister"s tower of strength. Loving Grandson to David (1995) and Ethel (1994) Desjardins, Elinor Zanutto and Rocco Maceroni (2008). Loving nephew to Helen Robertson (1999) and Stuart Robertson, Dennis Desjardins (2002) and Rose Lehnen, Keith and Margaret Beck (2002). Diane and Jim Goslin, John and Rose Zanutto, Louie and Lorrie Zanutto, Tony Zanutto, Agnes and Rob Fleming, Kathy and Tom Stergianis, Joe and Jennifer Zanutto. Special nephew to Donna and cousin to Kurt Krumme. Loving Cousin to Leslie and Mike Kearns, Mackenzie and Nicolas, Holly and John , Denise and Steve Belanger, Alyssia and Ethan, Colleen Desjardins, Sam and Sydney, Nicole Goslin and Alan, Katie and Johnny, Dylan, Michael and Alicia, Louie, Fayssoux and Dave Bombardier, Rachel, and Vinny, Jakob, Niko and Tom Rocco. Above all he cherished his friends too numerous to mention them all; Bernie, Devin, Jesse Toppliffe, Jesse Rutherford, Ryan, John Lee, Justin, Dan, Mitch, Will, Chad and many more. Russell will be sadly missed by by his fellow nursing students, Dan, Sam and Matt. He chose the Nursing Profession and found that he was truly a caregiver and loved the people as much as the challenges. He died suddenly in Edmonton where he was working for the summer as a Nurse intern at the University Hospital. He had plans to return to Edmonton once he completed his fourth year of Nursing and perhaps in the future to become a Nurse Practitioner. He was interested in the plight of the Canadian Aboriginals and wanted some day to assist them in their health care. Friends will be received at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd.E. on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 9:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Fr. Mike Graham officiating. Cremation to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
