Obituary of Dorothy Joan Bigelow

BIGELOW, Dorothy Joan ( nee Pariset ) Peacefully on July 20, 2008 at the age of 90 years . Loving wife of the late Ernest Peter Bigelow (1989). Cherished mother of Brian Bigelow and wife Valerie, Valerie Wood and life partner Willy, Roger Bigelow and wife Robin. Beloved grandmother of Caragh Richard & Sarah & Ashley & William. Dear sister of Jessie Sirovyak. Predeceased by sisters Lillian and Marie and brothers Harold and Reginald. Survived by nieces and nephews. Dorothy's journey in life started in Lewisham, London U.K., where she attended Prendergast Grammar School. She was employed by Lloyds of London until WWII when she volunteered as a Nursing Sister to tend the wounded and eventually met the love of her life, becoming a war bride. Dorothy had many accomplishments in life, working in Windsor and Detroit as a histological technician, taking several university courses, and raising a family. She was a dedicated member of the Anglican Church of Canada, St. David's Parish, Windsor, All Saints in Coniston, ON and was a proud member of the New Democratic Party. VISITATION AT THE WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.
