Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Daly

We are devastated to announce the unexpected death of our smiling beam of sunshine, Jennifer. The gravity of our loss is overwhelming. Born in Chicago and raised in Windsor, Jennifer most recently resided in Royal Oak, Michigan, with her husband Michael Hogan, who absolutely adored her.  She is also the treasured daughter of Joan Daly & Reno Bertoia (2011), and Raymond Daly & Bela Lev; the cherished sister of Beth Daly (Jeff Cohen) & Christopher Daly (Ana); the doting aunt of Lucas & Mikayla; and the devoted niece to Michael and Jan Daly.  She also leaves behind many broken-hearted friends and family in Windsor, Michigan and New York.

Jennifer will be remembered for her down-to-earth nature, her genuine warmth, and her undiluted optimism. Although she avoided being the center of attention, she lit up every room she entered with her ever-present and beautiful smile. She loved having dinners with her father so that Michael could hear all Ray’s “versions” of her childhood adventures. She also loved lunches and shopping errands with her mother, Joan, who always said that Jennifer had the “happy gene.”  Everyone who had the good fortune to know her can attest to Jennifer’s infectious cheerfulness.

However, the last six years were surely her happiest, as she met and married Michael, the love of her life. From their early days in New York City to the last several years in Michigan, Jennifer and Michael loved the same things: cooking and eating, hot air balloon and medieval festivals, streaming sci-fi series, visiting family in Windsor, North Carolina, and Ohio. Jennifer enjoyed a simple life, and being adored as she was by Michael was more than she ever dreamed of, yet just what she deserved. We take small solace in knowing how much she was loved.

It is impossible to fathom the hole left in our family.  Our sweet and beautiful Jennifer will be with us forever, in our hearts and memories.

At Jennifer’s request, cremation has taken place.  Services will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Saturday June 3, 2023.  Visitation from 10am and Funeral Service at 11am in the Chapel.  As an expression of sympathy and to honour Jennifer, donations may be made to the Windsor-Essex Humane Society or the The Detroit Zoo.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
