Giuseppe Calvaruso

Passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023 at the age of 80. Born in Alcamo, Sicily, Italy on November 12, 1942 he was a very proud Italian. Loving husband of the late Teresa (Turner). Dear father of Suzanne Vita Matteis (Michael) and David Sebastian Calvaruso (Maria Teresa (Nee Talerico)). Cherished Nonno of Luca Giuseppe, Joseph Valentino and Myla Emma. Predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Vita Calvaruso. Brother of the late Sebastiano, late Oliva Grillo (late Giuseppe), late Giacomo (Franca), late Francesco (late Bina), and Baldassare (Renata). Survived by wife Vincenza Calvaruso, son Frank Simone and family. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Special thanks to PSW Valentina Kukallari and the staff at Extendicare - Southwood Lakes for their care and compassion. Giuseppe was a proud member of the Caboto Club for 50 years, and loved gardening, making wine, and pasta. He especially enjoyed his car rides to Tim Hortons and shopping for new clothes! He loved watching his grandson Luca play soccer and hockey, playing games with his grandson Joseph and teaching his granddaughter Myla Sicilian slang!

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. 519-253-7234 on Wednesday May 31, 2023 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 1 from 10 am until procession for Funeral Mass at St. Angela Merici (980 Louis Ave.) at 11am. Burial at Heavenly Rest to follow. Memorial Donations may be made to The Summit Centre for Preschool Children with Autism or Diabetes Canada. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
