My deepest sympathies to the family. I have very fond memories of working with John at Hiram Walkers. John was always very helpful and kind to me, even though I drove him crazy with all the new safety rules and requirements . I went on Hiram Walker Youth Club ski trip in Michigan many moons ago and didn’t bring enough extra mitts for the kids and John was quick to jump in and give me his extras without a second thought. That memory has stuck with my for many, many years. The world has lost a great one!

As a next door neighbour, John was always completing maintenance around the house. About 4 years ago, it was time to replace our shared fence with the other neighbour Mark. The 3 of us embarked on digging 23 new holes in the Tecumseh clay with a motorized handheld auger. By the 3rd hole we had to give up because it was manhandling us big guys rather than the other way. We all agreed that a more powerful digger was required and each hole was completed within seconds. John thought this was the best money he ever spent and I wholeheartedly agreed. The fence was completed and still stands today as a superior replacement to the original, thanks in large part to John's expertise and commitment. Thank you neighbour! We will all miss you dearly. Rest in peace.
