Obituary of Amalia AG

On April 22, 2023 our beloved daughter Amalia AG (Amariutei-Grigorescu) passed in a new realm leaving the broken hearts of her parents, Iuliana and Laurentiu, her grandmothers Maria and Tatiana, her Godparents Gabriela and Tiberiu, her uncle and aunt Liviu and Alina, and all relatives and friends that loved her deeply. Amalia was our Shining Light, Silver Moon, and Love Song that came to us on Saturday, February 12, 2000 and since then led our lives to happiness every single day. Amalia attended Sandwich West Public School, Vincent Massey, and University of Windsor, which she graduated with Honors in June 2022. Her big heart and sensibility were the driving forces of her passions – music, creative arts, and Developmental Psychology – a career field arising from her love for children and the disadvantaged. Her music journey as a song writer and singer brought us songs that her loved ones will keep dearly in their hearts – Ticket to the Moon, Yellow Tape, and Shortcut to Tomorrow to name just a few.

As a Psychology student and then as a graduate, she put her heart and energy in helping the sick and the old, winning hearts along the way. She will be missed by her clients due to her empathy and ability to support people in pain.

In creative arts, Amalia was blessed with the ability to observe our modern society problems and sensitize the public with her graphics works addressing pollution, deforestation, and our excessive generation of plastics. Her video works were always original in theme and composition and highly appreciated during the studies, as alternatives to conventional essay writing on a subject.

Her curiosity for other cultures and nature’s beauty took her on travelling around the world, from her parents’ native Romania to Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Cuba, her native Canada, the USA and lastly Thailand – a land where she travelled with her love and enjoyed a marvelous experience in 2022. It was to be her last trip among “us”.

As a daughter she was everything we could have asked God for: beautiful, sensitive, artistically inclined, funny, witty, respectful, emphatic. We were blessed with twenty-three years of God’s gift that we are really grateful for - an inspiration for our own lives going ahead. Our time together was too short but intense and full of love and joy by seeing Amalia putting her heart in everything she touched. We will miss her smile, our hugs, our dinners, trips, and every moment life offers to people that love each other.

Her touch in this world will leave a legacy of love, beauty, a vibrant soul, and social justice. She will always be a model of courage and uncompromising integrity for her parents and loved ones, qualities that she displayed lastly in fighting of an unknown source of pain that ultimately led to her passing to a better world.
