Obituary of Marcel Blaise Joseph Walker

87 years.  Born on February 3, 1936. Entered into eternal rest, surrounded by his loving family on April 22, 2023. Beloved husband of Lorraine (Gignac) (2009). He will be greatly missed by his children;  Todd & Colleen (2014), Kevin Walker, Brenda & Larry Nantais, Christopher Walker and Janice Walker. Proud Pepe of Shannon, Christopher and Danielle Nantais, Richard & Tiffany McLay, Jacob McLay and Liam Walker. Great Pepe of Phillip and Garret McLay. Beloved son of the late Telesphore and Anna Walker (Hennin). Predeceased by siblings Romeo, Jeanette Bezaire, Roland, Eugene, Ernest, Leo and Marie-Anne Churchill.  Marcel was able to enjoy a long healthy retirement from Ford Motor Company and he was a member of Unifor Local 200. He was an avid reader, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, cryptoquotes, brain teasers, picture puzzles and wood working. Dad especially enjoyed being with his family, a good barbeque, a cold beer and family vacations. His book, appropriately named "Random Thoughts" by Marcel Walker will be fondly remembered with a smile or a good laugh. Dad was a good story teller sharing his knowledge and skills wherever needed, he will be greatly missed.  Dad was able to enjoy the comfort of home because of the love, care and support from his son Chris who resided with him.  Visiting will take place at Windsor Chapel (Central Location) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East (519) 253-7234 on Thursday April 27, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. We will gather in prayer to recite the Holy Rosary on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 2735 University Ave. West on Friday April 28, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.  The family would like to thank his long time Physicians Dr. Oozeer and Dr. Rodriques, the staff at Seminole Shoppers Drug Store, Jimmy from La Stella supermarket, who would take Dad's grocery order over the phone and deliver them right to his house every week for many years. Thank-you also to the Windsor EMS, the staff of Windsor Regional Hospital Met campus, as well as the assistance from numerous agencies that worked with us to help fulfill Dad's final wishes. Finally, by the Grace of God and a quick phone call to Sister Corrine Gignac, Dad's sister-in-law, who rushed to be by his side, share some French dialogue and prayers for Dad. I don't think we will ever truly know how much that visit actually meant to him.  Memorial Tributes to Our Lady of Assumption Church would be appreciated by the family.
