Obituary of James Lassaline

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85 on April 15, 2023. Beloved husband of 59 years to Theresa (nee Bornais). Cherished father of John (Debra). Proud Pepe of Alexander, Andrew, Adam and Grayson. Survived by brother Paul Lassaline. Predeceased by brothers Alvin (surviving wife Janet) and Don (Joan). Dear brother-in-law of Leonard Bornais (Rosita), Lloyd Bornais, Raymond Bornais, Vincent Bornais, Rita Fata, and Josef Bering. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Theresa and Jim married in 1964, and moved to California for better opportunities. Jim began his career at Yamaha Motor Co. in the warehouse and worked his way up to Personnel Manager. In 1980, they decided to move back to Windsor to be closer to family. From there, Jim became the Production Manager at Essex County Association for Community Living. In 1995, Jim retired after many years of dedicated service. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and during the Christmas Season, becoming Santa Clause.

The family would like to thank Dr. Malus, Dr. Karnick, Dr. Howe, Dr. Pan and the entire staff at Windsor Regional Hospital, as well as the numerous paramedics at Essex Windsor EMS, and the Personal Support Workers from St. Elizabeth for all their dedicated care and compassion.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - Banwell Chapel on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 10:00 am until time of procession to St. Anne’s Church for Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
