Obituary of Stavros (Steve) Kekkas
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his side in his 100th year. Beloved husband of late Maritsa (Mary) (2016). Cherished father of Savas and Martha (2022) Kekkas, Dean Kekkas (2018), Christine and Mike Margaritis, Vivian Simon-Kekkas and John Kekkas. Loving Papou to Stella, Maria, John, Stavros, Maritsa, Mary, Tammi, Tom, Nicholas, Ashley, Amy, Walter and Christina. Predeceased by his granddaughter Joanna. Dear Great Papou to Michael, Valasia, Elijah, Abigail, Hermes, Hestia, Ume, Tai, Koto, Kaya, Konstantino, Michael, Luka and Caris. Predeceased by siblings Despina, Anastasia, Stergos, Asimina and Dimitra. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins in Canada, USA, Australia, Belgium, Germany and Greece. Stavros was a member of the Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor since its inception, and a former council member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church Windsor. He was also a "Colossus" member of the Rhodian Association of Windsor/Detroit. Stavros loved gardening, hunting and loved astronomy. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (South Chapel) 519-253-7234, 3048 Dougall Avenue on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thrice Holy Hymn Service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (3052 Walker Road). Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In kindness memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church or Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus.
