Obituary of Ralph Goellner
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Goellner, age 60, on Saturday, March 25th, surrounded by his loved ones, after a lengthy and well-fought battle with cancer.
He will always be missed by the love of his life, Lily-May LeBlanc; his children: Simon (Christine) and Erika (Tom), and his step-children Danielle (Tim), Aaron (Jo-Ellen), Derek (Maria), Nicolette (Brandon), and Adrienne (Harpinder); 17 grandchildren who call him Opa, his sisters: Elke (Martin Gotz), Aileen, Yvonne (Mark Gillis), and Sue (Derek Dunbar), and his many friends and family members. Ralph was predeceased by his loving parents Lieselotte and Hermann Goellner.
After finishing high school, Ralph spent 13 years in the military, before being given an Honorable Discharge with a medal of service. His further employment was found at Casino Windsor as a waiter then a dealer for many years. However, Ralph’s true passion was woodworking, and he was an incredibly skilled craftsman and carpenter. His specialty - beautifully elaborate bars, furnishings, cabinetry and renovations, can be found in many homes and even restaurants. Ralph was an avid golfer, an aeronautics enthusiast, and a talented artist. He was so strong; a “titanium” man, who never let anything get him down for too long, and could always be found in his workshop, working on his next project, or on the golf course with friends.
A visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel, Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East (519-253-7234) on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 1pm to 3pm and 4pm to the time of Funeral Service at 6pm in the Chapel.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Windsor Regional Metropolitan Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
