Obituary of Magdalen Toth

In Loving Memory                   Magdalen  TOTH

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Magdalen “Magda” Marie Toth (nee Kachler) on Wednesday February 15, 2023 at the Hospice of Windsor surrounded by her loving family.

Devoted loving wife to the late Thomas Toth (2000).  Beloved and treasured mother of the late Dr. David Toth (2010), Brian and Susan (nee Patrick) London, Saundra and Dana Woltz , Stephanie and Frank Capizzi (Michigan) and Dr. Darryl (Helena) Toth. Cherished Oma of 12 grandchildren , 1 great  granddaughter and another great granddaughter arriving in April.

Reunited with her beloved parents Jakob (1953) and Magdalen Kachler- Schisler (2003), her brother Joseph Kachler (1997) and his wife Frances Maryann Kachler (2008), Aunt Apollonia Noll (2014) and many loved ones before her . She will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, special cousins and relatives near and in Germany, along with many dear friends whom she loved and cherished, too numerous to name.

Magda was born in Windsor Ontario on July 28, 1932 and was raised by German parents to which she proudly followed many traditions and brought them forth to her own family.  On May 16, 1953 she married the love of her life Thomas S. Toth and raised five children.

Magda had a voice which was beautifully angelic and professionally sang in her younger years. She later enjoyed singing with the Ladies German Choir at the Teutonia German Club for many years where lifelong friendships would follow.  With her passion and love for music she attended many concerts and events with the Windsor Symphony.  Her faith was strong and she shared that love with her family as an active member of her parish and the Catholic Women’s League.

Over her lifetime, Mom enjoyed the love of her numerous friends, her Ya-Ya sisters, curling, dining out, shopping for those exceptional deals we couldn’t leave behind, singing in the choir, along with her many travels treasuring a special fondness of Aruba where every year she would embrace the friendships made on her beach leaving footprints in the sand.

The family wish to thank Dr. A. Schumacher, the staff of 4 North Met Hospital, special appreciation to Janice Dufault RN, the entire team at the Hospice of Windsor as well as all of the nurses, PSW’s, staff, volunteers and friends who made such an incredible impact on our family’s difficult journey. A note of appreciation to the genuinely kind neighbors whom always looked out for our Mom and provided comfort to us during this time. May God bless you all for your kindness and compassion.
