Obituary of Rina Meret

MERET, Rina (nee Malisan) February 28, 1924 - February 17, 2021 Passed away at Extendicare Tecumseh on February 17, 2021, in her 97th year. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Cherished wife of the late Giovanni (2012) and predeceased by her son Dennis (2005). Special Nonne of her grandchildren Gina (Trevor) Dybenko, Michelle and Cristina (David) Melnik. Nonne of her great-grandchildren Viviana, Bianca, Marcus, Lilyana and Layla. Rina will also be deeply missed by her daughter in-law Maria, nieces, nephews and friends, here and abroad. Daughter of the late Giovanni and Rosa Malisan (nee Ciuto). Predeceased by her many siblings in Canada, Italy and Switzerland. Rina was an amazing cook and could always be found in the kitchen making food for her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and good humor. She was well liked by all, especially her neighbourhood friends and staff and residents at Extendicare. A special thank you to the staff at Extendicare Tecumseh for their kind and compassionate care over the past years. In lieu of flowers, donations directed to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, 6038 Empress St, Windsor, ON N8T 1B5, are appreciated by the family.
