Obituary of Balbir Sidhu

On Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, Balbir Kaur Sidhu passed away peacefully in her home in the early hours of the morning at the age of 84, surrounded by her loved ones. She spent her years as a social worker in India, empowering women by educating them and teaching them how to be independent. She immigrated to Canada in 1995 with her family and provided support by taking care of all the grandchildren. She loved to entertain everyone and was always making jokes and telling stories. She will be missed by her dear husband, Gurbakhsh Singh, her daughter Kanwaljit Kaur and her husband Amandeep Singh, and her son Rupinderpal Singh and his wife Ramanjeet Kaur, along with her three sisters and brother. She will also be missed by all her grandchildren, Harleen, Jodha, Deepinder, Channi, Geeti and Isher, who remember her as their dear Biji and Naniji, as well as all her nieces and nephews who have fond memories of her. Her dog Alvin will also miss spending their days together and he provided extra support to her during her difficult days.

The family would like to thank everyone for supporting them during this time, as well as Bayshore Home Health and St. Elizabeth Healthcare and their wonderful nurses. Special thank you to Victoria, Tammy, Tracy and Angie who always took extra care of her and made her feel comfortable. Thank you Victoria for making her last birthday extra special. There will be a visitation at Windsor Chapel (Banwell) on Saturday February 4th, 2023 from 10:00-12:00pm and the cremation at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery (Division Road) at 12:30pm, followed by Antim Ardaas and Bhog at 2:00pm at Gurdwara Khalsa Parkash Windsor.
