Obituary of Tamas "Tom" Molnar
MOLNAR-Tamas "Tom"
February 16, 1941- January 30, 2023
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Loving and devoted husband of 60 years to Mary Anna (Nee Kepes). Loving father of Beatrix (Tom) Buetow. Cherished papa of Thomas (Kenzie) Buetow, Christopher (Katherine) Kragh-Buetow, and Brian (Sarah) Buetow. Dear great grandfather of Aiden, Nate, Esther, and Iris. Predeceased by his parents Gyula and Anna Molnar (NeeVass) and his brother Gyula Molnar. Tom approached life aggressively and fearlessly. He escaped communist Hungary in 1969, and immigrated to Toronto. He arrived with no money and without his Mary and daughter Beatrix who joined him in 1971. He did landscaping work, then moved on to drywall. In 1979 he moved to Sherwood Park, Alberta and started his own drywall contracting business which was very successful. He sold the business and then retired with Mary in Windsor 12 years ago, where they quickly established a wide circle of close friends. Tom never met a stranger and was always quick with a joke. He was larger than life, even in death. He refused to ever give up but his body did on January 30, 2023. He would have been 82 on February 16th. The family is grateful for the care he received at Windsor Regional Hospital- Metropolitan Campus. As per his wishes cremation services have taken place. A Memorial visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E on Saturday February 11, 2023 at 10:30am followed by Words of Remembrance at 11:30am. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
