Obituary of Maria Mazzorini
Maria was born Sept 1, 1931 in Codroipo, Udine, Italy to Attilio and Silvia Bianchini. She immigrated to Canada in 1953 to reunite and start her married life with her beloved husband, Luigi (Gigi 2004). During their 50-year marriage, they would have their deeply loved daughters, Iola (Joe Durante) and Silvia (George Ferro). The most joyous time of her life was being a nonna to Adriano, Joey (Kelsey), Daniela, Elisa (Michael Baioff) and Julian. Her most recent addition made her a blessed bis nonna to Gemma Baioff (caro me ninute). She was predeceased by siblings Francesco (Caterina), Bruno (Cleofe), Luciana, Luciano and Antonietta. She is survived by her loving sister Gisella (Dino Mazzorini 2003), her caring nieces Marina and Paola (Jeff Simpson) and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins, throughout Canada and Italy. Maria had many jobs outside the home, including being a bridal seamstress. Maria's talented, hardworking hands were always busy nurturing her family, countless volunteer hours of cooking, sewing, knitting and praying as she lived a very faithful life. She was also a long-time member of the Fogolar Furlan Women's Association as well as a founding member of their friendship group. In the last 7 years she enjoyed her life at Oak Park Terrace. While there she actively participated in all activities and enjoyed her many wonderful friendships with the residents. Deepest thanks to Brenda and staff. Her short stay at Metropolitan campus was met by the most compassionate group of individuals. We as a family are so thankful to all for the comfort provided and the time for proper goodbyes.
