BORTOLIN, Navina (nee Piccinin)
Passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022 at 95 years of age, with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife of Antonio (2013). Proud Mom of Louis (Jo-Anne née Valente), Danny (Kathy née Deschamps), and David (Sandy née Mardegan). Dear Nonna of Jennifer (Jason Maurina), Nathan (Ingrid Happy Kemayou), Aron, Erica (Kevin Prieur), and Katharen (Peter Baldwin). Bisnonna of Matteo and Ella Maurina, Quinton Prieur, and Helena Bortolin. Predeceased by her parents, Luigi Piccinin and Fiorina (née Passe). Predeceased by in-laws Guiseppe Bortolin and Angela (née Turchet). Predeceased by siblings Lucia and Nilo Pasut and Sergio Piccinin. Sister-in-law to Rosiano Bortolin and Angelina (née Casetta), and to Giovanni Santarossa and Luigia (née Bortolin). Navina will be sadly missed by many extended family members in both Italy and Canada. Navina was a dedicated member of the Caboto Italian Women's Club since 1950, and of the Fogolar Furlan Italian Women's Club. Navina had a passion for sewing and was involved in a weekly Sewing Club at the Fogolar. She was retired from Windsor Catering after many years of dedicated service. Prior to the pandemic, Navina would attend daily Mass at Most Precious Blood Parish, where she was a faithful member of the Catholic Women's League. Navina was a very independent woman. She drove her Camry until late May and lived alone until October. Navina enjoyed cooking and looked forward to weekly family dinners, full of good food, storytelling, laughter, and love. Navina’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Loebach and Dr. Tarabain for their decades of compassionate care. A thank you, also, to the caring staff at Amy's Helping Hands, Lifetimes on Riverside Retirement Home, and 4 North at WRH Met Campus, especially nurse Nicole.
