Obituary of Andrew Boyd

Andrew Boyd<br/>Jan. 17, 1939 to Feb. 6, 2021<br/><br/>Andy peacefully left this world to be with his Love Peggy in the early hours of Feb. 6th at Chatham Kent Health Alliance after a hard-fought battle with Covid-19.<br/><br/>He was the life partner of Peggy Roe (1/27/21) for 32 years and the late Pauline Boyd (2000). The father of Christine (Ken) Paquette, Jason (Dana) Boyd and stepchildren Cheryl (Randy) Campbell, Kevin (Barb) Roe and daughter in-law Lisa Matte Roe. The Proud Grandfather of Lucas and Ryan Boyd, Karen Paquette, Steven Roe, Kristofer & Lucas Roe and Great Grandfather of MacKenzie and Steven Roe.<br/><br/>Andy is also survived by three brothers David and wife Donna Boyd (Verona), Bob and wife Sandy Boyd (Oakville) and Ian and wife Karen Boyd (Gabriola, BC). Predeceased by his parents Archibald and Margaret (McCutcheon) Boyd. He was a very proud Uncle of Ardeth (Pat) Kirkham, Kate Boyd, Ian Boyd, Jennifer (Eric) Scoffield, Jeff (Marja-Liisa) and all their children.<br/><br/>Andy was born in Scotland, and later immigrated to Canada with his brothers David and Bob and parents in July of 1949.<br/><br/>He grew up in Windsor on Lincoln Road, attended Walkerville Collegiate and graduated from the University of Windsor.<br/>He began dating Pauline Robinson in the early 60s and married in May of 1963.<br/><br/>Andy was a smart, kind, stoic and loving man. He enjoy teaching at Belle River high-school before he co-founded Modern Benefit Planning and retired in real estate at Buckingham Realty. In his leisure time, Andy enjoyed his Kinsmen Days as a member for many years.<br/><br/>Andy loved living beside Lake St. Clair in Lighthouse Cove. The “Cove” was filled with neighbours that Dad and Peggy considered family. Lake life gave Dad more boating and fishing time which were his passions.<br/><br/>We are eternally grateful to the devoted professionals who cared for both Peg and Dad during their battles with Covid-19. From the Paramedics to all the staff at CKHA; especially: Victoria, Courtney, Sarah, Rebecca, Marisol, Jill, Kaitlyn, Erin, Jenn, Nina, Shayna, Pao, Allie, Nikita, Domenique, Colleen & the communications team<br/>It brought us comfort that you ensured Dad did not die alone. You have forever touched our hearts with your compassion during this awful pandemic. Thank you. In kindness and appreciation, memorial donations may be made to The Lighthouse Cove Lions Club.<br/>Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date when we can gather again together.<br/>
