It is with broken hearts that we share the news of the passing of our Matriarch and beloved mother on September 10, 2022 at the age of 89 years old. Predeceased by her husband Pietro Milani (2008), Loving mother to Theresa and husband Gianni Baggio, Michael Milani and wife Jacqueline. Amazing Nonna to Melissa and Daniel D’Andrea, Catherine Milani and Cory and Michael Milani and Olivia and Bisnonna to Matteo and Dante D’Andrea. Predeceased by her Parents Cesare and Stella Civiero, and in-laws Augusto and Teresa Milani, and siblings Felice Civiero (Agnese), Giuseppina Perin (Andrea), Elide Bonin (Ernesto), Luciana Piva (Eno), and in-laws Giovanni (Maria), Bellino (Ennie) and Giuditta Milani. Survived by brother Ivo Civiero (Nella) and sister Rosa Giacomazzi (Quinto). Also survived by many Milani and Civiero cousins, nieces and nephews in Windsor and Italy. Gemma will also be greatly missed by the Baggio, Maloney and Masaro families. Gemma arrived in Canada in 1954 with one suitcase in hand and built an entire empire of family and friends, truly valuing them all and always doing whatever she could for them. Friends became family and very special lifelong relationships were made with the Bonin, Martinello, Quaggiotto families, neighbors and friends. Her passion was cooking, gardening and sewing. She made her house a beautiful home and has shared many of her talents, recipes and meals with all our families, friends, co-workers. At 85 years old she was still sending care packages of food home with all of us. She was a member of the Trevisani nel Mondo. She will forever be loved and missed. Our Angel has returned to Heaven. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (South) 3048 Dougall Ave, 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, September 14 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday September 15 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum) from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Mass at 1 pm. Father Gregory Bonin officiating.
