My sincere condolences to the Whittal family. Rita was a beautiful friend and coworker. She was my mentor when l came to work on cardiology at Met, many years ago. Her wealth of knowledge was amazing, as was her kindness and dedication. She was a friend that was easy to love from the start. My thoughts and prayers are with her family in this so difficult time. Rita will be a beautiful light, that will always shine bright, in my treasured memories of her.

Dear Greg, Kirk and Megan, I am deeply saddened for each of you. Rita was one of the loveliest ladies I have ever known. Greg, I remember what wonderful times Rick and I had on vacations with you and Rita, at parties and so many, many New Years Eve celebrations. They were happy times and bring me fond memories. I hope and pray that the beautiful memories that you and Kirk and Megan have, will help to ease your broken hearts.

Our deepest condolences to all of you. Our lives were filled with best friendships and good times as kids. Rita was a true blue best friend to my mother and her kids were best friends with the piccolo kids. So many fond memories of sleepovers and fun family times. To Megan and Kirk, your mom was so special to us and through the hardest times in my mothers life, she was always there. You had the best mom! To Greg you were the best husband and Dad and I hope you know how much you mean to everyone. Thinking of you all during this time. Rest in peace Rita, we loved you very much❤️

Dear Greg, Kirk, Megan and family
I worked with Rita in CCU at Met hospital for many years. She was a beautiful lady inside and out, a great colleague and friend and a loving, caring and compassionate nurse. It was a pleasure to have know her and worked with her. I never called her just by her name but rather” lovely Rita meter maid” since we would always joke and have little nicknames for each other. She will never be missed since her personality and love were bigger than life
Offering my sincere condolences and May God bless you all in this most difficult time

Dear Greg, Kirk , Megan and family:
I worked with Rita at Grace Hospital...many years ago...she was always so kind to everyone. WE laughed that both our boys in kindegarden were named Kirk {even though we tried to name them with an uncommon name} at St John Vianney. And then we were both pregnant at the same time along with 3 other gals at Grace Hospital for our 2nd child.
Even after years of not seeing Rita............we chatted for a long time when we ran into each other a few years ago at Goodlife working out .
She will be missed so much............a wonderful classy lady...
our family's deepest condolences to you all,
Alison Ouellette , Kirk Ouellette and family and Jessica Irene and family.

Rita inspired me to become a nurse before I even applied to nursing school. I remember her fondly and cherish the short time I was a small part of her life. Over the past 25 years in my own nursing career, I've thought of Rita often. She was such a beautiful, kind, smart lady and she made an impact on me that helped me become a kind, compassionate nurse as well. Thank you Rita. ❤ So sorry for your loss Mr. Whittal, Kirk and Megan, and families.
