Elizabeth (Liz) Labonte (Smith Debevc)

With broken hearts we said goodbye to our beautiful mother today. She passed away with her youngest daughter by her side. She fought a terrible disease with dignity and grace. She was born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan on May 25, 1936 to Josephine and Louis Debevc. She moved to Windsor on October 20, 1945.

Predeceased by husband John Dyer Smith (1966).

Liz will be lovingly remembered by her children, Shelley, Lisa (Fred, 2021) Shawn, Nicole (Brian), Kirk. Predeceased by parents Louis and Josephine Debevc, and her four siblings. Beloved Grandmother to Zane (2017), Jack, Justin (Kendell), Meagan (Yousef), Sam, Shira (Jeff), Kody, Nate and Grace.

Special Great-Grandma to Kyren, Kolsen, Ethan and soon arriving Baby Ramy. Liz is remembered by Edward J. Labonte. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Liz retired from CIBC Bank where she worked for many years.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, Central chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd E.) (519-253-7234) On Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:30 with the service to follow in the chapel with procession to follow to Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery for burial.
