Uncle Derek, you were an amazing uncle to me. My earliest memories are when we moved from Himley and you were right next door with Nan and Nandad Foy. You would play little tune on the banjo (which I still treasure). You would save me coins from your change and place them in your ashtray which had a veteran car on (which we still have). I will always love you. Sending love and condolences to all my family in Canada.

Our Uncle Derek, King of the barbecue, worldwide adventurer & lifelong Black Country soul at heart. He will be remembered across the pond for his kindness, generosity and the love for his family. His love of classic cars and his impressive bar. I was lucky to share some amazing moments in the past 30 years with Uncle Derek including Lisa & Chad's wedding which I will never forget. Everyone I speak to remembers Uncle Derek fondly & after all isn't that the legacy we all aspire to leave behind? He accomplished this & so much more. We have fond memories of him and the happy times we had at Pat & Tom's house when your parents were living- especially the day after Christmas! Derek was a wonderful guy! Derek was a knowledgeable and fun contributor to our retirees Tuesday morning coffee group at Tim Hortons. He stood out as a proud and competent tradesman and could be counted on to be there for anyone who needed a boost, whether personally or professionally. I will miss his easygoing approach to life and the way he saw the good side of people. Linda and his family can be proud of this gentleman and I wish you good luck with his pub.
