Obituary of Remo Valente
VALENTE, Remo
March 28th, 1944- June 23rd, 2022
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Patriarch. Remo died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 23rd, 2022. Devoted and loving husband of Fernanda (Nee Silvaggio) with whom he has enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage.
Loving father and mentor to Pietro (Darcie) Valente, Gabriel (Bobbi- Lynn) Valente and Amy-Lynn (Matthew) Sarkis. Cherished and proud Nonno to Gianni, Alessandra, Matteo, Gabriella Valente, Emilia and Alessia Sarkis.`
Predeceased by his parents Pietro and Emilia (Nee Capaldi) as well his mother and father-in-law Gabriele and Angela Silvaggio. Dear brother of Lina DiLuca and her late husband Domenico, Domenic Vecchione and the late Mario Valente. Missed by his brothers and sisters in law Domenic (Susan) Silvaggio, Ingrid (Jim) Heugh, Lina (Ron) Seguin. Also sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Remo was born in a bomb shelter in Sora Italy on March 28th, 1944, his father Pietro died 6 short months later. The family immigrated to Amherstburg, ON in 1955. Under almost impossible situations Remo was somehow able to found, nurture and grow Valente Real Estate into one of Windsor's most successful Real Estate Brokerages. His passions included spending time with his family, golf, land development and enjoying time with many friends from all walks of life.
He was one of the founding members of the Ciociaro club, past board member of WECAR, winner of CIPBA Family Business of the year and long standing member of Essex Golf and Country Club.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors at Windsor Regional Hospital- Ouellette Campus who cared for Remo and offered their support.
Visitation to take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave, 519.253.7234 on Sunday June 26th, 2022, from 5-8pm and Monday June 27th from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Services will begin Tuesday June 28th, at 10am processing to Corpus Christi Parish (1400 Cabana Rd W) for 11am funeral mass. Entombment at Heavenly Rest (5500 Howard) to follow.
