RACO, Gemma (nee Gelonesi)

November 12, 1941-June 14, 2022

Born in Cirella, Reggio Calabria, Italy. Gemma, assisted by her angels, went home to God on June 14, 2022. Loving wife of Bruno Raco for 60 years. Daughter of the late Bruno and Maria Antonia Gelonesi. Dear sister to the late Rocco and late Domenico Gelonesi of Italy. Sister in-law to the late Maria and late Frank Troiano of Montreal, Guiseppina and late Rocco Mediati of Montreal, Assunta and late Rocco Ieropoli of Windsor, Domenico and Maria Raco of Montreal, Chiara Raco and late husband Mario of Windsor, the late Giuseppe and Elisabetta Raco of Italy, the late Maria Rosa and Rocco Mediati of Ohio, and the late Carmela Raco of Ohio. She will be sadly missed and joyfully remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gemma had so many wonderful qualities. She was a kind, considerate and generous person. Always ready with a smile that lit her eyes. Gemma was a retired employee of G.M. Trim Plant. She also enjoyed sewing in her spare time. A Special thank you to Dr. R. A. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Sunday June 19, 2022 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Sunday evening at 8pm. Funeral on Monday June 20, 2022 at 10:15am going to St. Angela Merici Church for the Funeral Mass at 11am. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family is requesting in kindness, that attendees please wear a mask.
