It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ivica, a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather on May 27, 2022 at the age of 79. Beloved husband to Marija "Mary" Pocrnic (nee Miletic) with whom he celebrated 51 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted Tata to John Pocrnic and wife Jen, Christina Pocrnic, and Matina Crowder and husband Christopher. Cherished Dida to Kaila and Ryan Pocrnic. Predeceased by parents Mate and Manda Pocrnic. Dear brother to Ana Simac and husband Ivan of Klanac, Gospic, Croatia. Dear brother in-law to Katica Biscan of Windsor and Steve Miletic and wife Lori of London, ON. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Croatia. Ivica retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Unifor Local 200, St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church, Croatian Bocce Ball League, Croatian Hunting Club and Croatian Bowling League. Ivica was an avid hunter and fisherman, but he especially enjoyed his gardening. He was very proud of his heritage of being a Croatian from Perusic, Lika, Croatia and even more proud the day it was announced that Croatia gained its independence as a country. Ivica was known for his wonderful generosity to others in providing his family, friends and even his neighbours with an assortment of vegetables from his beautiful garden.. Most importantly, Ivica will be remembered for being a family man who was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. .Visitation at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2:00 - 5:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. Parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Services on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 10:15am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church (1701 Turner Rd.) for Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Ivica's life, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex County or the Windsor-Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
