Obituary of Slavica Korenic
KORENIC, Slavica (nee Persic)
September 11, 1933 - May 25, 2022
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Slavica Korenic, our beloved Mama, Baka and Pra-Baka.
As the sun was setting, Slavica passed peacefully in the arms of her devoted daughter on earth and was embraced by her cherished daughter and angel in heaven Nevenka “Nancy” (1978). Reunited with beloved husband Josip (2018) with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Loving mama to Mira and husband Josip Pulez. Adored Baka to Sylvia and husband Steven Basarac, Lydia and husband Petar Josic, Nadia Pulez and significant other Robert Vincent. Proud pra-baka to Luka, Niklas and Marko Basarac and Karlo Josic. Predeceased by parents Miho and Ana Persic, sister Marica (2018) and brother-in-law Zoran Maljkovic (2020). Slavica will be greatly missed by her nephew Mario, wife Danijela and their daughter Lara Maljkovic in Croatia along with John and wife Zeljka and daughters Angela, Stefanie and Natalie Barcic. Survived by an uncle and cousins in Canada and Croatia. Her greatest pride and the center of her world was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandsons that filled her heart with pride and purpose. She embodied love and generosity, everything she did was for her family. Slavica was born in Dugace, Bosiljevo Croatia. She was a faithful and devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church since she arrived in Canada with her family in 1969. Her eternal light, our love for her and the wonderful memories she gave us will live in our hearts and thoughts forever. POCIVAJ U MIRU.
