MELO, Manuel “Chico”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel, a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, on May 24, 2022 at the age of 70. Reunited with his beloved wife Jorgina (nee Cacilhas) (2014) with whom he celebrated 37 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father to Elizabeth Silva and husband Carlos, Sandra Teves and husband Mark, Diane Melo, Georgina Melo and Kevin Melo. Cherished “Avo” to Natalie, Anthony, Nathan, Salina, Noah, Lilyan, Talia, Christian and Darryl Jr. Predeceased by parents Manuel and Maria Rosa Melo. Dear brother of Maria Costa and husband Fernando of Portugal, Afonso Melo and wife Rita of Portugal and Lidia Cordeiro and late husband Nicolau of U.S.A. Adored godfather to many godchildren. Manuel is survived by brothers and sisters-in law and by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Sunday at 7:30pm. Funeral Services on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 10:15am from the funeral home then to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (804 Grand Marais Rd E.) for Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Manuel's life, memorial donations may be made to the family.
