Obituary of Elizabeth Portscheller

PORTSCHELLER, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Portscheller, who loved to be called “Oma” by her grandson, departed her loving family on May 5th 2022. Elizabeth (Lissi) was born in Molidorf, Yugoslavia on October 8, 1936 to Michael and Helen Vollmer. She raised her daughter with love and devotion with her husband, John (1929-2003). As a busy homemaker she still found the time to volunteer with the CWL at St. Michael’s German Parish and to join fellow members at the Teutonia Club for german events. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gathering collectibles, decorating and gardening. She loved babysitting her grandson and in later years replaced that with travelling. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth and her grandson, Carson. A private celebration of her life is to be held in the near future. Anyone wishing to donate in Elizabeth’s name may do so at : The University of Toronto Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
