DESPENIĆ, Zorka (nee Paulić)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Zorka, born on April 16, 1941 in Batnoga, Croatia, peacefully, in her home, surrounded by her loving children on Mother's Day May 8, 2022 at the age of 81. Reunited with her beloved husband Stjepan "Steve" (2013) with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Loving and devoted Mama to Maria (Marica) and Brad Janisse, Julie Spooner (1996), and Petar and Božica (nee Rezler). Cherished Baba to Steven (Megan), Luke, Julia, MaryRose, Clare, Martin, Monika, Joanna, Amalia (Daniel), Stephen and Vanessa. Predeceased by her parents Jure and Bare Paulić. Much loved baby sister of 10 children. Adored by surviving siblings Danica Kalić (Pave) and Vinko Paulić (Jelena).  Zorka is survived by her dear cousins Vinko Matić (Draga), Marija Jandrić (late Duro) and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Croatia and Australia. Zorka met the love of her life, Stjepan, in Winnipeg, Manitoba where they married in 1961. Proudly together they raised their children in Winnipeg and then Windsor. She was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 2-5 and 7-9p.m.  Parish prayers at 7:00p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:15a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund, Hospice of Windsor or to a Charity of your choice.
