First met George at King George School and over the years would bump into each other and I would see George going to and coming from Peche Island with his family and friends after spending the day on the Island and on the water as George was a boater and Classic Car Enthusiast. Would see George often at various Car Shows across Essex County and I remember one day seeing George and family cruising down Woodward Ave. in the Woodward Ave. Dream Cruise in Detroit. George had a couple of Ford Classic Cars. R.I.P. George.

My Dad was my best friend. There wasn't any doubt. We were the same. The two years I was off work due to the casino being shut down was a gift. Days of fishing, coffee and cruising in his '63. Quoting "Christmas vacation" and him sneaking cigarettes and trying to convince me to buy him packs of smokes even though I knew Mom would be pissed.
We "got" each other, we thought the same. It was like we didn't have to say a word. We just knew. He and I were Leafs fans and I don't think I'll ever be able to watch another game without hoping he was sitting by my side cheering them on.
Losing him is the single biggest loss of my life.
Love you Dad,
Summers

Dear Annette & family: I have known George for most of my life, we lost contact for many years but we where able to get back in touch. What an amazing man. I loved going for dinner with you and George, I knew that I would have an evening full of laughter. George spoke of his kids and grandkids every time we went out. I'm sure The Maple Leafs needed you to watch over their 1st playoff game. Ed & I will miss you dearly.

Dear Annette, Jennifer, Jason and children: sending you big warm virtual hugs from Mtl... I had the privilege of meeting George, even briefly, last summer. He seemed like a very decent yet fun person. The fact he was such a great father, husband, friend, fellow car & hockey afficionado makes it hard to say goodbye... Yet it's also a comfort to know he was so loving and so well loved. Jason, your traditions of xmas tree selection and going fishing with your dad are etched in my mind. Thank you for sharing your dad with the rest of us.

Annette, Jen, Jason et al, I am so sorry for your loss! George lived larger than life and will no doubt be making sure that you do too! May all your amazing memories sustain you at this difficult time.
