Obituary of Joseph Hayes

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father on April 17, 2022. Loving husband to Loreta with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. Cherished father to Amanda (Jeff) Piccinato, Stella (Geoff) Rankin, and Matt Hayes (Nicola Stewart). Joe was excited about his first grandbaby, Baby Piccinato, expected in July. He was adored by pets, Pete, Buddy, Ares, Sam and many cats, and grand-fur-babies, Vinny, Sal and Charlie. He will be missed by many extended friends and relatives.  Joe was a proud retiree of Chrysler, where he dedicated 38 years of his career, where he made life-long friends. He loved animals and being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. A special thank you to the EMS, Firefighters and staff at Metropolitan Hospital ER, especially Denise, the charge nurse, and Dr. Dusan Barisic, that helped Joe throughout his final moments.

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place. For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the MS Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
