Obituary of Giovanni Piccolo

PICCOLO, Giovanni ‘John’ Aug 24, 1932 - April 16, 2022 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John, our beloved husband, father and friend on Saturday April 16, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Cherished husband of Giuliana. Adored father of Debra (Mario Rocchetti) and Joe (Julie Brown). Brother to Carolina (late Michele Tedeco), late Anna (Carmine Ianetta), late Melinda (Riccardo Fulgenzi), Franca (Mario Perna), Mirella (Frank Cerenzia) and Giuliana (Mario Caruso). Dear brother-in-law of Franco Favot (Lori), late Gemma (Bruno Ferranti), late Nadia Favot. Predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Teresa Piccolo, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Felicita Favot. He is survived and remembered by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. John came to Canada in 1952, married Giuliana Favot in 1960. He enjoyed hunting and trap shooting winning many trophy’s and awards. He spent many hours in the backyard working his garden and spending time with his numerous dogs. John was a proud employee of the 7:Up Bottling Co. for 34 years and Pop Shoppe for 11 years. He was a member of the Giovanni Caboto Club where he served as the Treasurer for the Caccia Pesca. John was also a member of the Harrow Gun Club. Most of all, John was a wonderful provider to his family, who he loved so very much. Visitation at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 10am until the time of the Chapel Service at 11am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Catholic Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Diabetes Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor Essex County.
