FOREST, Emilio

Emilio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 28, 2022, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Ortensia (Nee Tondato) for 62 years. Loving father of Flavio (Sue), Sergio (Emily) and the late Nadia (April 11, 2005). Dear nonno of Megan, Adriana, and Stefano (Amanda). Precious bisnonno of Zayna, Emilio, and Hudson. Predeceased by his brothers Giacomo, Elio, Mondo, Angelo, and sisters Elvira and Rina. Survived by his brother Antonio of Italy. Emilio will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Emilio was a kind, generous and caring person. He worked hard to build a better life for his family after arriving from Italy. He was a talented carpenter, building many homes in the community. He was a long-time member of the Caboto Club, a member of Il Coro Italiano, and he was a proud Alpino. Emilio enjoyed wine making, cultivating his fruit trees, grape vines and garden, and sharing Sunday lunches and special occasions with his family. He passed along many valuable traditions and qualities that will be carried forward by his family in his memory.

A special thank you to all the personal support workers who cared for him in his home, particularly Ryan and Amanda, as well as the doctors, nurses, support workers and volunteers at Hospice for their outstanding compassion, care and support provided to our family.

Visitation to be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. 519.253.7234 on Thursday March 31st, 2022, from 2-5pm, and 7-9pm. Parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral mass to be held on Friday April 1st, 2022 at 11am at St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave, Windsor, ON). Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave, Windsor, ON).
