Sad to hear of Tom's passing. He was a presence for many people, many children. I recall him in settings around the Children's Centre--the gym, the pool, his office, outdoors--with his keen remarks and eruptive quick laughter and smiles. An individual, a humble, giving man.

Thinking of all of you during this sad time. Tom always had the most welcoming personality and a contagious laugh that I will never forget. It wouldn’t matter how much time would pass between meetings, you’d always be able to pick up as if no time had passed. Always happy, always welcoming and never a dull conversation. As a friend to Katie and the family for many years, I have a whole bank of memories that I will treasure in my heart. Sending love to the whole family.

Dear Angie, Tony, Andrew, Katie, Tim and Avery, I am so sorry to hear about Tom's passing. He was a wonderful person. I remember when he spoke at my Eagle Scout Court of Honor on my behalf 42 years ago when I was 14!! More recently I enjoyed Tom and Angie's visits to my home where we just hung out on the boat in the summer or walked around Notre Dame in the fall. He left all of us way too soon. For all of you Angie, Tony, Andrew, Katie, Tim and Avery I wish peace and condolences.

My condolences to Angie and family. I had the pleasure of working with Tom for many years at RCC. Many memories of camping trips, scout groups, and him doing woodworking projects. Tom was the scout leader, camp organizer, canoeing trainer, life guard, and van driver for many outings. Tom was a caring, considerate, and treated everyone with respect. I had the honor of working with Tom at RCC for several years. There are many young people whom have grown up by now and if mentioned the name Scouter to, would have lasting irreplaceable memories of. He truly is someone that many will never forget and are better people for knowing him. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of the |RCC family! Sincerely, Christine Forbes

Janet and I are very saddened to hear of Tom's passing. Angela, Philip, Andrew, Katherine: be assured that Tom will remain in our hearts forever. Tom and I first met as scout leaders with a troop operating out of the community centre on Drouillard Road during the '70's. Tom had just arrived in Windsor and we became instant friends camping and hiking at Sauguin. I believe we will camp together again .... From one old scout to another ... happy trails ! Donald Panek

My deepest condolences to Angela, Philip, Andrew and Katherine. I have so many memories of Tom through the Knights. I will miss his warm spirit and especially his laugh. I credit Tom for making me a better Disciple of God, by asking me to assist in the nursing homes for mass and weekend communion. Tom called me between Christmas and New Years, just to say hi. I wish I had known then it would be the last time we would speak. May God welcome you into his Heavenly Home with open arms. I will miss you my friend. Dan Pergolesi, PGK Council 8919

Penny & I offer our sincerest condolences to the Deane family. Tom was a kind and courteous man who was loved by all. I worked closely with Tom through the Knights - he was my Financial Secretary while I was Grand Knight. We sat in close proximity at Church each week and enjoyed conversing together. I am saddened to hear of Scouter's passing. Scouter was an executive member of the OPSEU local Union Local 143 at Windsor Western Hospital, now Windsor Regional for many years. I have fond memories of meetings with him as our Treasurer. Tom taught me many things along the way and I am grateful. We had many struggles over the years but Tom would always make us laugh at our meetings. He was highly regarded by his co workers. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to his family. In Solidarity Brother. Marisa Forsyth. ( past president OPSEU Local 143)

Dear Dad, I will miss you each and every day. Although I could not be with you in person, I am so glad that I spent your last week with you by your side virtually. I will miss eating olives and pickles with you! Avery, Tim and I will always treasure the memories that were spent with us here on island. Soon I am going to go parasailing for you, Dad - one of your favorite things to do here. I hope that you are laughing with your contagious laugh alongside Grandma and Grandpa Deane and Aunt Pat. Love you for always, Your daughter Katie
