It is with peaceful and loving hearts that we say goodbye to our family patriarch, Maurice (Moe) Natyshak. Husband to late Jean Natyshak (nee Oglan) Father to late Nick Natyshak and wife DiAnne. Brother-in-law to George and Vera, late Bob and Connie, late Ron and late Joanne and Mitch Oglan.
Best friends to late Chuck and Tina Atkin.
Loving Uncle to so many Nieces and Nephews makes it impossible to list them all.
With his loving grandson and granddaughter by his side, and some good country music playing in the background, Moe passed away with the same quiet dignity, peace and calmness that embodied his personality.
A born leader, Moe lead his family of 10 siblings and parents from the prairie fields of Brooksby Saskatchewan to South Western Ontario in the 1940’s. Gramps staked his claim with his beautiful bride on the shores of Lake St Clair where he often referred to his place as God’s Country. Wherever Moe went, people wanted to follow, and wherever Moe was, people wanted to be.
A legendary athlete, Moe had the determination of a work horse whether on the ice or ball diamond. Gramps put the “Old” into the “Oldtimers” hockey league where he was a fixture for over 30 years. Watching him play hockey in his late 70’s was magical. Playing with his son Nick and grandson’s Maury and Jeff was the highlight of his life. He applied that same work ethic to his career at Chrysler for over 30 years.
A visit to the lake was never complete without stopping off at the bar to have a drink with Gramps. Photos of his beloved family adorned the walls, letting us all know what was most important in his life. He will be missed by so many special neighbours who took care of each other over the years making them more like family.
He will be missed by so many at the Stoney Point Sportsman’s Club where countless stories were told and memories made.
With Moe’s passing, life at the lake has forever changed.
When a cool breeze passes us by on a warm summer day, we will be reminded of the comfort and love Moe brought to our lives.
A special thank you to the nurses, doctors and other healthcare workers at Windsor Regional Hospital who provided so much love and care for our dear Moe. We are forever grateful for your professionalism and dedication.
