Dear Fred and Family: It is with sad and heavy hearts that we share our deepest and most sincere condolences with you. Donna and Evelyn worked together at AGI for many years before Fred & Evelyn moved to Barrie. She used to call Donna (My Donna). She was like a mother to us and Fred like a father. We used to go out for dinner with them every Friday night and we would share warm and wonderful stories together. We got to know them on a personal level and they became dear and loving friends. It was a very sad day when they told us they were moving to Barrie. Our hearts were broken and they took a part of us with them. We thought of them every day and missed them dearly. God love you Evelyn, and God love and take care of you Fred. Please know that you are always in our thoughts. God love and look upon you in your time of need The Altenhof Family. My dear Unc Fred, Dina, Karen and Jamie. I think the best memories from the past were when Mom and Dad would announce we were going to visit family in Windsor. The excitement before hand was always like an overfilled pot of boiling water. The gatherings at Nana and Papas out on L. st Clair. All Aunts and Uncles and so so many of our cousins. Each and every time we visited it was always the highlight of the year either during christmas or mid summer. At times during the gatherings when Great Aunts and Uncles gathered you would swear with the shear numbers it was a family reunion. As with all my aunts and Uncles, my Aunt Evelyn and Unc Fred have always had a special place in my heart. It is disheartening to say the least but the memories our Aunt Evelyn gave us all is a gift of a lifetime of such happy and loving memories. I still to this day can feel her huge hugs and her pinching my cheek, saying rightly so too I might add, Michael you behave now. hahaha. One of the special things my Aunt Evelyn had was no matter what facial expression she wore as she talked with you, she always had a smile mixed in. A trait that was all her own. My very beautiful Aunt Evelyn you gave us all a life time of memories that I know we will always hold dearly and share for years to all family and friends. I love you Aunt Evelyn. Michael Hendrick

I have a great many memories of the Altenhof family and all the fun we had when they got together with family and friends, Evelyn & Fred, Jack & Helen, John and Carolina and their cousins, Billy & Karen and George. I knew some of their kids as youngsters and a few as adults. Many happy memories of days gone by. My condolences to all who mourn Evelyn's passing and please keep all your memories close so that she never is far from you or your heart. God bless all of you!

Evelyn was a great sister in law and a great euchre player. Our card club lasted a number of years, was a lot of fun, and left me with some very fond memories. She will be deeply missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family during this time of grieving. The first time I remember meeting great aunt Evelyn, I accidentally called her grandma because she and Veronica looked so similar. She was such a beautiful and loving woman, and she was so much fun. I will cherish the moments that I was able to spend with her.

Dear Uncle Fred and Family, We are so sorry for the loss of Aunt Evelyn. She was such a kind and generous Aunt and always so loving when Willie gave her a hard time. We were very blessed and thankful for having Aunt Evelyn in our lives. We always appreciated the visits when Uncle Fred and Aunt Evelyn stopped by when they were in town. Evelyn had her share of boyfriends, but one (Fred) took her and her siblings to the beach at Point Pelee where we met up with Jack John and the ski boat (Fred’s brothers). We had a great day in the sun sand and water. We stayed until it got dark. Now I ask you, do you know any girl that would bring her siblings on a date with her boyfriend? She was very good to us.
