Obituary of Neil Ataman

ATAMAN, Neil “Gentle Giant”
Passed away suddenly on January 19, 2022.  Loving and devoted husband of Gia for 18 years.  Much loved dad of Isabella.  Dear son of the late  Marlene and Andre Ataman.  Son in law of Franca and Nick Maltese.  Neil will be missed by his brother Dean and wife Kristina Ataman.   Fun loving brother in law of Albert Maltese (Michell) and Nellie Maltese.  Proud uncle of Brianna, Jazmin, Isaiah, Marley and Dre.  Neil worked at Caesars Windsor for 24 years as Supervisor in Transportation Department and then most recently as Security Supervisor.  In 2017, he was recognized as a President’s Award winner for his positive spirit and hero volunteerism.  He was an avid fisherman and loved being on his boat.  He played baseball for the Belle River Men’s Slo-pitch League known as "The Prez". Neil was a Past Grand Knight with Knights of Columbus Council 9865.  Neil had a love for cannoli and enjoyed building forts with his daddy’s girl Isabella, they were the dynamic duo.  He will be terribly missed by Scooter, his fur pal. Neil will be terribly missed by all who knew him.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Isabella’s Education Fund (cheques may be made payable to Gia Ataman).  Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E. 519-253-7234 on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9p.m.  Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.   Reservations are required to attend the visitation and funeral service.  Please call the funeral home between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to reserve your spot.  Masks must be worn for visitation and service.  Online condolences may be left at www.windsorchapel.com
