Obituary of Rolland W. Cookson "Rollie"

 

1939-2022

 

We walked the journey hand in hand and never looked back because ours was a "Forever Kind

of Love".
 

Rollie passed away January 15th in the arms of his loving Soulmate Barbara Fauteux, after 40

Beautiful years of joy, love and laughter.
 

Born and raised in Walkerville, Ont. to parents Veva & Jack Cookson. Predeceased by Siblings

John Holland & Beverly Cookson.
 

He leaves behind beautiful and fun filled memories for his adoring children Kim Cookson (Herb)

(NB), Gregory (Whitey) Cookson (NB), and Karen Cookson (Josh) (NY).
 

Special Goomba to Zacory, Alexis, Katelind, Holland, Colleen and Jennifer.

Great Goomba to Cole, Maddox, Ava, Tucker and a 5th Grandchild due in February.

Brother-in law to Ron & Connie Fauteux and Carol (Gary 2021) Fauteux. Uncle RoRo to Angie

& Dave Payette, Phil & Caron Landry, Scott Fauteux and Rochelle, Beth Cookson, Tom

Cookson and Anne Porter. Great uncle to Alex & Maddie Landry.
 

Rollie Was a Friend and Mentor to Numerous People throughout the many years of his life. As

Everyone knew, His Charm, Wit and Sense of Humour were the highlight of his Personality. In

his later years Rollie lived a very Peaceful Life filled with Meditation, Music and his Love of

Books.
 

Barbara and his family would like to Thank the Doctors and Nurses at Met Hospital who

Lovingly cared for Rollie in his final days. Special Thanks to Dr. Jennifer Bertram, Dr. Anat Ravid

and Dr. Winston Rajkumar for the gift of Nine Extra Years of Life.
 

A Heartfelt Thank You to Lifelong Friends Pam LaBute and Kristen Allick for never leaving

Barb's side in the final weeks of Rollie's life.
 

At Rollie's request, Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Internment will take place at

St. Mary's Cemetery in Walkerville at a later date.
