She was a special person in my life. I’ve never met anyone like her; I’m so fortunate that I’m her granddaughter.
My Nonna was and will always be the strongest and hardworking person I’ve ever met. Always putting her needs before everyone else’s. She took great care in raising my mom and zio. She cared endlessly for my Nonno. No one will be the same without her. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. She loved to cook for my cousins and I. We only left after we were stuffed to our core with her famous lasagna, pasta, pizza or beloved “Nonna cookies.”
Her garden was her fourth grandchild. It was her purpose and passion. She was so proud of her tomatoes that nobody could compete with; she was always so humble, never bragging except about her garden.
She was the best example of someone who was content with what she had and didn’t need anything else - someone who was grateful for the life she had.
Her light touched so many lives, she left impressions on people she’d only met once. I’ve never met someone who had this influence on the people around her. She was a steady light in the darkness.
She laughed her way through life. Always telling stories about her many travels and good times. Her eyes would twinkle when she would tell a humorous story, and her laugh was so contagious. Her laugh would light up the room. I would take anything to hear one last story from her. Life will never be the same without her.
She took care of everyone around her, she had an open door policy- everyone was welcome. Her energy was endless.
Always so cheerful and happy. Nothing brought her down. She would powerwalk everywhere (at 84 years old). We’d go on a walk and we would be a block behind her. She’s the definition of a strong, powerful woman.
Always down for adventures. I have so many memories of our time together. My favourite ones are from when I was little, when she and my Nonno would come pick me up and drive me to their farm, get ice cream, drive to the dock or get chestnuts. They were the first people to take me to McDonald’s - yes people who only ate non processed food. She and I would roll around laughing in the back of their van. She would jump on the trampoline with my cousins and I, she was very hands on with us.
She had a big sweet tooth, always having candy or chocolate on the go. She had a secret stash with all her favourites. She loved having coffee and a drink with her neighbours.
She lives on through her stories, family and friends. Her personality was larger than life
I will never forget you, Nonna. You left a hole in my heart that can never be filled. I hope you know how loved you are.
My Nonna loved to dance and sing. She would dance around the house with me until she was sweating and panting. She always told me to dance. I will keep dancing for her.
I love you more than life.

I am so grateful we had laughs and coffee together that Sunday afternoon. I'm heartbroken that will be the last visit and coffee we will have together. I loved when I was visiting my mom and we would call you to come visit with us. You quickly came over full of fun and laughter. I loved to hear you tell stories of the old days and family with humour and vivid details. I would listen intently, learning something new each time. I so enjoyed that time together. I will miss the stories and the laughter. I will miss you teasing my mom and watching you two laugh and talk and share a special bond. It won't be the same without you filling our house with your lively joyful presence. You were larger than life. I love you Zia, always and forever. You will always have a piece of my heart ❤

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of (Zia)Anna. Her smile, strength, amazing garden, laughter and positive attitude are my fondest memories of her. Anna loved being around family. Living down the road from her best friend and sister (my zia) meant many coffee dates sharing lots of laughter and recipes. I will always remember those special times and Anna’s great smile and laugh. She was a beautiful person!

Orfeo, Manuela, Derek and family,
We send our most heartfelt condolences. Anna was a beloved cousin, who will always be remembered for her laughter, funny stories, passionate beliefs and generosity. She was an extremely proud grandmother and loved sharing stories with us. Her vegetable gardens were second to none and she gave out it's bounty every summer. Our hearts break for her sisters Maria, Bruna and Lucy who will feel this loss for the rest of their lives. The absence of Anna's smile will weigh heavily on them. May God grant Anna eternal rest. Our Friday night Lenardon girls' chat/rant sessions will never be the same without her.
Sincerely,
Vienna Marcon (Lenardon) and Gina Marcon

Dearest Zia Anna, right now, all I can think about is your contagious laughter and I am completely heartbroken that I will never again hear it in person.
My Zia Anna was the kindest, most generous soul. She brought light and a joy to every situation she faced, even the most challenging ones. Her door was constantly open and someone was always visiting because there is no one who met her that didn't immediately love her. Of course, after a visit, it was impossible to leave without a full stomach, huge grin, and some tomatoes or other vegetables from her infamous garden. I wish I had a mere fraction of her green thumb! My childhood memories are filled with images of her cooking up a storm in the kitchen--laughing, singing, and dancing while she worked. Of course, she brought this same passion to every sports game she watched (it didn't matter that the players couldn't hear her telling them what they were doing wrong!). I feel so lucky to have witnessed her doing the things she loved most.
Take a rest, dear Zia Anna. Finally be at peace. I'm not sure you ever realized how many people truly loved you, but I promise, we are all so very grateful to have been touched by your light. The world is indeed a much darker place without you in it. You will never be forgotten. <3

My dear, dear sister Anna was the most kind-hearted, gentle, and generous person ever, and being her younger sister is a gift I will treasure forever.
Anna’s laughter was infectious. The joy she brought in everything she did, whether singing while she cooked or shouting passionately at athletes on TV was something to behold.
Anna was a rock to my siblings and to me. My parents loved her to pieces. Friends and neighbours witnessed firsthand, her gentle soul and they always made sure to express their profound fondness for her.
Anna, now you finally have the peace you so deserve. You were an angel in life and an angel still. The void you have left in my heart will never be filled. I love you forever, I love you for always, my beloved sister.
