Obituary of Janez "John" Novak

NOVAK, Janez (John) 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janez (John) on December 27, 2021, at the age of 84 years at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga, Ontario. Born in Petkovec, Slovenia, on January 25, 1937, to the late Franc and Ivana (nee: Brencic). Reunited with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Anna Novak (2019). Cherished Father to John Novak (Sharon), Kathy Burhoe (Wayne) and Danny Mustar (Janice). Adored Grandad to Caitlin, Emily, Jacob, Jackson and Tia. Dear brother to Marija, Franciska, Slavka, the late Ivanka, the late Terizija, and the late Franc. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and relatives in Slovenia. John retired from Chrysler Canada where he was dedicated worker and loyal employee for over 30 years. He was a long-time member of the Windsor Slovenian Cultural Club “Zvon”, and Slovenski Park in Cambridge, Ontario. He was devoted Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for many years. He was a hard-worker throughout his life, but made sure to enjoy road trips, playing bocce ball, gardening and making wine. Thank you to the doctors, and nurses at Trillium Health Partners and Dom Lipa in Toronto for their kindness, compassion and care. 

Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Avenue, 519-253-7234, on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 1pm. For those wishing to join the family for funeral mass, reservations are required. Please call Windsor Chapel 519-253-7234 between the hours of 8am-4pm to book your reservation. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations can be made Canadian Cancer Society or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
