Obituary of John Pleli

PLELI, John Sr.  

January 18, 1929 - November 30, 2021 

Passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Katharina (nee Siller) for 64 years. Devoted father of Caroline Ladouceur, Philip (Patricia), Nicholas (Katherine) and John. Proud Otta of Megan, Jillian (Alex Herrera) and Christopher, Matthew (Amrita), David (Jacqueline Buhler) and the late Nicole (1991). Dear Great-Grandfather of Jeevan and Nikola Pleli. John is survived by his sister-in-law Anna Bappert. He will also be missed by his niece Ruth (David) Ottenbrite of Cambridge, ON and his nephew Dr. Norbert (Sue) Becker of Colorado.  John was a dedicated and longtime member of St. Michael’s German Catholic Church and the Teutonia Club. Working and providing for his family was most important to John. A special thank you to the staff at Extendicare Southwood Lakes and Dr. Ian McLeod for the care and compassion John received.  

Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Sunday December 5, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A chapel service will take place on Monday December 6, 2021 at 1:30pm. Reservations are required to attend the chapel service. Please call 519-253-7234 between 8:30am-4:00pm to book your reservation. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
