Obituary of Anita Buset

BUSET, Anita (nee Perin) July 5, 1934 - November 23, 2021 Passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Southlake Regional Hospital, Newmarket. Predeceased by her loving husband Nillo. Dearest mother of Lucy Buset-Armstrong (Bob), Mara VanBurgsteden (Bill), Mila Buset (Stephen Crawley), Eddie Buset. Caro Nonna of Russell, Justin, Graham, David, Nancy and Clayton; Devan and Grant; Emily and Sarah; and Roman and Lana. Dear Sister of Celestino Perin (Elvia), and Alfredo Perin (Silvana). Dear sister-in-law of Fr. Vittorio Buset, and Anna Popolin (Chencio). Anita is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy. Anita was a loving mother and dedicated homemaker. Nonna was the best cook who made the most delicious Antipasto, lasagna and spaghetti sauce ever; she always had a plate ready for whoever walked in the door. Trained as a seamstress in Italy, mom made many of our favourite outfits as children and her grandchildren cherish those she made for them. Her trademark knitted red and white Christmas stockings individually designed for each of us are heirlooms that will forever keep her in our hearts. She was a faithful follower of her Catholic faith and a long-time member of the Caboto Club Women's League. She will be remembered fondly by her family, friends and neighbours for her generous and warm hospitality, and fun loving sense of humour. Family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Kingsway Place Retirement Home for their attention and care especially her loving caregiver, Sherri. Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, November 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass. Reservations to attend the Funeral Mass are required.
