LIA MARIA PERISSINOTTI (nee: REDUCE)
January 4, 1937 - November 14, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lia Maria Perissinotti at the age of 84 at The Village of Aspen Lake with her family by her side. Reunited and welcoming her with open arms is her husband, the love of her life, Vittorio Perissinotti. Loving mother to daughter Odila & Jim Busi, son Anthony, and the late daughter Norma. Cherished Nonna to Jennifer & Shawn Forfitt, Jessica & Ben Irwin, James Busi & Holly Sexton and the apple of Bisnonna’s eyes her precious great-granddaughter, Rachel Irwin. Treasured sister and sister-in-law to Marisa & Luigino Chemello, Luisa(D) & Celeste(D) Bresolin, Giovanni(D) & Gina Perissinotti, Teresina & Dino Piccinin and Odilla Perissinotti(D). Devoted daughter to Rina(D) & Guerrino(D) Reduce and daughter-in-law to Amalia(D) & Antonio(D) Perissinotti. Proud Zia of Ivanna, Nadia, Dario, Diane, Paola, Laura, Mario, Massimo and families. Loving cousin of Renzo(D) & Lina Reduce, Livia Tavolieri and families along with the Toffolon & Santarossa families where she shared a close bond with Silvanna Toffolon. Special extended family member to Anna & Giovanni(D) Busi. Reunited with her best friends, the late Antonietta & Gino Favaro. Lia will always be remembered by her card group: Dina, Maria Teresa, Lori, Liz, Anna and reunited in Heaven with her former card players Luisa, Antonietta, Elda and Mary. She will be sadly missed by her special friends Slavka & Ivan Kireta and special neighbours John & Evelyn Sennema, Doug & Kelly Diet and families. She treasured her extraordinary 50-year relationship with the late Drs. George & Lillian Mok and family.
Lia was born in Cadola Belluno, Italy and immigrated to Canada with her family. She was so proud of her Italian-Canadian heritage. Lia blessed us with beautiful memories and everlasting traditions. Lia had a zest for life like no other and always had a smile on her face. She loved people, telling stories and was always so thoughtful. She enjoyed knitting and canning; her antipasto and gnocchi were the very best. She was an avid collector and a passionate Maple Leaf, Blue Jay and Spitfire fan! Lia was a proud member of the Italian Women’s Club G. Caboto Auxiliary and the Women’s Bocciofila as well as the Associazioni Veneti Nel Mondo. A special thank you to the staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare and The Village of Aspen Lake for their compassionate care. Lia had a heart of gold who loved unconditionally. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
