Obituary of Louis Victor Meconi

MECONI, Louis Victor 

July 12, 1950 – November 13, 2021 

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Louis, on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the age of 71. Soulmate and best friend of Janice (nee Gilmour) for 50 + years. Cherished father of Melissa (Fouad) Gereige and Marcia Meconi (Luis Rugama). Special Nonno of Kaitlyn, Luca, Tarek, Miguel, Micah, and Mila. Dear son of the late Frank and Anne Meconi (nee Favot). Brother of Frank (Angela) Meconi and Christina (Scott) Farquhar. Nephew of Velma (late Norando) Meconi, Joyce (late Oliver) Favot, Claire (late Evo) Favot, and Trevor (Sarah) Collier. Son-in-law of the late Hugh and Muriel Gilmour (nee Collier). Brother-in-law of Ian (Barb) Gilmour, Kathleen Gilmour (late Aaron Lindgren), Laura (Joe) Hickmott and Christina Gilmour (Randy Emerson). He will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Louis was a Red Seal Chef for many years. He was dedicated Head Chef at Chicken Court Restaurant, Windsor Raceway Clubhouse, and Seasons Restaurant. He went on to be a Sales Representative at Morton Wholesale and Sysco Food Distributor. He was a member of the Chef’s Association and the Kingsville Optimist Club. He enjoyed spending his time golfing, bowling, and watching horseracing. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Go Habs!  He always enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Louis shared many laughs while assisting George and Daryl with Kings Landing Restaurant/Kings Landing Catering. Louis enjoyed his neighborhood watch with the many friends he made. After retirement, he loved to visit his friends Charbel, Tootsie, and Youssef at the salons to share a cup of coffee and make people laugh. The most important things to Louis were his family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends. He left his lasting imprint on all those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral mass on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church.
