Obituary of Caterina Calamita
It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving and adoring mother and Nonna, on October 31, 2021, at the age of 90.
Welcoming her with open arms, is her beloved husband Felice (2020). Loving and devoted mother to Achille (late Linda) Calamita (Valerie), Vincenzo Calamita (Dorie) and Joanna (Vito) Zuccaro. Cherished Nonna to Richie (Carly), Joseph (Brooke), Felicia, Alyssa, Genna (Cory), and Jared (Victoria). Treasured sister to Chiara (Michele) Luiso and late Maria Carmela Paciolla. Dear sister-in-law to many in Canada, U.S.A, and Italy. Predeceased by parents Vincenzo and Eugenia Giannone, of Italy. Adored Zia and Great Zia to many nieces and nephews.
Caterina loved sharing her days with her husband (late) Felice, her children and especially her six grandchildren. She retired from Hotel Dieu Hospital. Caterina enjoyed vacationing with Felice and completing puzzles. Planting and growing beautiful roses and flowers were one of her passions. She loved to crochet and everyone in the family was blessed with a Nonna Blanket. She enjoyed cooking and celebrating many holidays with her family.
We are grateful to Dr. Dale Ziter and staff. Our family would like to thank our angels from Malden Palliative Care. Your gentle, compassionate care was nothing less than amazing.
We are indebted to all of her neighbours and friends who embraced her as their own family.
