Obituary of Lucille Cecile (nee: Ouellette)

Cecile, Lucille (nee: Ouellette)   

Born May 10, 1931, and passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on October 29, 2021 at Hospice of Windsor. The Lord called her home, and she followed. Loving and treasured wife of 72 years to Stanley Cecile (Hon). Loving mother of Wayne, Mic (Kathy), MaryAnn (Bill) Downes, Brian (Gail), Janine (Len) Chittle, Diane Russett, Shorty (Lisa) and Dennis (Kim). Cherished grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 19, and great-great grandmother of 6.   

Daughter of the late Ernest (1995) and the late Delia Ouellette (nee Drouillard, 1954) and stepdaughter of the late Lida Bechard Ouellette (2000). Sister of the late Frank (2017) (Barb), Doreen (the late Ron, 2009) Bechard, Geri (the late Ed, 2020) Pflanzner, the late Bob (1997), Ted (the late Jan, 2016), Gene (Colleen) and the late Danny (1997). Step-sister to Marie (the late Walter, 1995) Shuel, the late Annette (2012) (Floyd) Meloche, Bob (Anita) Bechard, Donat (Linda) Bechard, and Doug (Joan) Bechard. Lucille was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church from the time of her baptism in 1931 until the church was closed in 2008. She was very active at St. Rose Church and shed many tears when it closed. Lucille and Stan became parishioners at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish, where she was a reader and a member of the CWL. She prayed for everyone who was sick and sent enrollments from the Capuchins to the sick and bereaved. She was a cake decorator and made many wedding cakes and cakes for all occasions. She was very crafty, and her children and grandchildren have many of her crocheted items, paper tole, needle work and ceramics.  Mom, the depth of your love for Dad and his for you was never more apparent as in these past weeks. Rest in Peace and don’t worry about dad, until the Lord calls him home, we will take good care of him! A very special thank you to the doctors, Linda Britton and her team, and volunteers at Hospice of Windsor for their amazing care. What a wonderful end to her life journey. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road, East 519-253-7234 on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 1pm – 6pm. The family requests only those who are double vaccinated attend visitation to pay their respects. Masks must be worn at the Funeral Home. A private Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish. 

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor, St. Vincent de Paul or the charity of your choice.
