Obituary of Carey Stephen Labonte
LABONTE, Carey Stephen
October 14, 1983 – October 8, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Carey, on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the age of 37. Carey is mourned by his parents Steve and Jeanne (nee Schram). Missed by his sister Ashley Whiteman and brother-in-law Ryan. Cherished uncle of nephews Parker and Oliver, and niece Amelia. Dear grandson of the late Donald and Beverly Labonte and Bernard and Dorothy Schram. Sadly missed by “She’s the one,” Laura Labadie, until the end of time.
He will be fondly missed by extended family and close friends. We cherished our memories of his light up a room kind of laugh, quick one liners, big snuggles, welcoming face licks from any dog near him, and his loud headstrong personality. He was our gentle giant with Carebear hugs, and he will be greatly missed.
Carey spent his most recent days renovating people’s homes, which he worked his way up each trade beautifully. Typically, not without obstacles, similar to his life, he soldiered through. Either high up on a mountain cheering everyone on, or fallen to the valley, waiting to climb back.
Rest in peace Carey, as you join Skye, and meet your friends who are waiting for you.
Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel (BANWELL CHAPEL) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Carey’s life will be held at a later date. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
God's Garden
God looked around his garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone…
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
