Obituary of Angelina Pez

PEZ, Angelina

September 21, 1925 - October 22, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and Nonna, Angelina Pez (Drigani) at the age of 96. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Amelio (1999), to whom she was married for 45 years.  Angelina was born on September 21st, 1925, in Zugliano, Udine, Italy. Beloved mother of Peter (Pierino) (late Juanita 2019), Marisa Figgins (Wayne), and Cristina Stein. Proud Nonna to Erica, Julianna, and Alexander. Loving sister to the late Alfeo (Novella), the late Maria (Luigi), the late Galliano Drigani, and sister-in-law Bianca and their families in Italy. Angelina was a devoted member of St. Angela Merici Church where she volunteered as a church and funeral choir member for over 40 years, as well as a member of the ladies cleaning crew. She was also an associate parishioner of Most Precious Blood Parish since arriving in Canada in 1955. Angelina spent her life in Canada, along with her husband Amelio, maintaining the traditions of their cherished Friuli. She loved her garden, growing stelle alpine and oleanders, making wine, and maintaining her large vegetable garden up until the age of 90. Her strength and resilience stayed with her until her final days. Our sincere heartfelt gratitude to Dolce Vita Retirement Home, Tony and Franca Conciatori, and the compassionate staff that cared for our mother like a family member for the past 3.5 years. Their loving care made her feel like she was back in her beloved Italy. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Angela Merici Church, 980 Louis Ave, Windsor, on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. Reservations are required to attend mass.
