Obituary of Francis Paul Scarfone

SCARFONE, Dr. Francis “Frank” Passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on September 20, 2021 at the age of 95. Predeceased by his parents Rocco and Vincenza Scarfone. Beloved husband of Ann (nee Parry) for 27 years.

Frank was predeceased by his first wife Joan Scarfone (nee Merlihan). 

Cherished father of Frank Scarfone (Dr. Catherine Yanchula, June 2021), Dr. David Scarfone (Joži), Dr. Peter Scarfone (Mary Beth), Maureen Scarfone, James Scarfone and Mary Pat Scarfone (Craig Guthrie), Jann Wickett (Jim), Jay Parry (Marianne), Jill Denson (Brian) and Jon Parry (Cathy).

Beloved grandfather of Christopher, Ashley, Rachel, Trevor, Lauren and Madeline Scarfone, Sara Scarfone, Ryan, Hannah and Emily Guthrie, Dr. Jamie, Jacquie and Jordan Wickett, Dr. Jessica, Danielle and Katie Parry, Lindsay, Stacey and Ashley Denson, Alyson and Emma Parry, and 8 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Delina Carere (Carl), Dr. Joseph Scarfone (Margaret), Delia Arel (Orville), Anthony Scarfone (Sally), Carmela Gerace (Antonio) and Dr. Santo Scarfone (Pat). 

Frank was a much loved and highly respected family physician for over 50 years in Windsor. In his retirement, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and travelled extensively with Ann. He was a great chef and an avid golfer and bridge player. 

A special thank you to John, Claudia, Carol Ann, Sheri and Carol, Nick and all of the other wonderful healthcare workers who were involved in Frank’s care as well as Gary and Shirley for their many dedicated years of friendship.

Visiting at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234 on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 3-7. A private funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If you desire, donations to Hospice of Windsor and Essex County or to  Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare would be appreciated by the family.
