Obituary of Luigi Rosario Fiorino
Luigi Rosario Fiorino
October 7, 1927 – September 18, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving father Luigi (Gigi) in his 94th year on September 18, 2021.
Predeceased by his beloved wife and soulmate of 66 years Lina Veltri (2016).
He will be dearly missed by his children Pasquale (Martha), Maria Teresa Harris (Bill), Annarita and Pierluigi (Suzanna). Beloved Nonno to Joseph, Katherine (Greg), Michael and Christian. Brother of Marcella (2009), Fiorigi, Ivana and Tonino.
Luigi was a passionate gardener, and wine maker. He was an accomplished musician where he enjoyed playing the accordion, organ, piano, flute and clarinet. He arranged and wrote many musical pieces and was the founder of the Giuseppe Verdi and Roma Club Folk Choirs along with the San Francesco di Paola Church Choir where he was their music Director. He received the Giovanni Caboto Club of Windsor’s 'Man of the Year' award, along with his fellow brothers of Il Coro Italiano of Windsor with whom he was a long-time member. He had a long and faithful history with St. Angela Merici Church choir and the Italian community from the time he immigrated to Windsor in 1951 from Grimaldi, CS, Italy where he was born and raised. He was the proud owner of Tony’s Ornamental Iron Works Limited. Luigi lived a full and loving life enjoying his family work, friends, music, singing, listening to opera and travelling.
Papà, your life here on earth is over. You worked very hard and sacrificed a lot to gift us a better life. Go and rest easy and be with Mamma. We will miss you dearly.
Many thanks to the staff at Chartwell Oak Park Terrace, WRH 7N Met Campus, HDGH Palliative Care Prince Road Campus, LHIN and to all the PSW's who cared lovingly and unconditionally for him.
