Obituary of Mijo aka Michael Skrinjaric

SKRINJARIC, Mike

Passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021 at the age of 95. Beloved husband to Frieda (nee Haas) with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage. Loving and devoted father to Anne-Marie Marincic (Tom), Elfie Wolfe (Roy), Monika Banovic (Josip). Cherished “Dedi” to Tommy, Matthew, Derek, Elizabeth, Kevin, and Christopher. Great- grandfather to Jason, Michael, Emily, Thomas, Charlotte, Rowan, Eleanor, Luka and Alen. Dear brother to Seka and Barica of Zagreb, Croatia, and predeceased by siblings, Anka, Milica, Braco, Ivica and Stjepan. Survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A., and Croatia.

After many years of running his own business, Mike enjoyed a well-deserved retirement for the past 35 years.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 700 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. , with Parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home then to St Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Masks are required to attend visitation, funeral mass and cemetery service. Reservations are required to attend the funeral mass. Please call Windsor Chapel at 519-253-7234 between the hours of 8:30a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to secure your reservation. As an expression of sympathy, donations in honour of Mike may be made to the Alzheimer Society Windsor-Essex County or St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund.
